Jamie took her first yoga classes in college, when yoga classes were the only very early morning classes offered at her gym in Upstate NY. She immediately fell in love with the slower paced, focused breathing and deep thinking that was different than the traditional cardio and boot camp classes she had always been enjoying as part of her fitness routine.
Her schedule became busy and a new love of running took Jamie away from yoga for a bunch of years, but she returned to practice yoga after a running injury in 2016. She found that practicing regularly helped her through the injury and she gained flexibility, strength, and balance.
Jamie completed her 200 hour teacher training at Lift in the Fall of 2018:
“My yoga practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully.”
In her classes, she combines creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. She wants you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.
“Yoga is the relationship that is built between the body, the mind and the breath. Yoga is creating space free from obstacles in your own body to live. Yoga is freedom and release. I am here to help others find this release so that they can comfortably move their bodies through life. Feeling good in your own body and being strong and healthy is one of the most important things you can do because it has an impact on every other area of your life. When you feel good in your body you start to feel confident in so many other situations.”
