Courtney began practicing yoga in 2016 after wandering around the gym, trying to find an alternative to the elliptical. Her first class impression was humbling to say the least; but, there was something that kept her coming back for more. Eventually, her practice led her to spiritual awareness, confidence, self reliance, and peace.
Courtney is from New Orleans, LA, and moved to Atlanta from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She graduated from GSU with a B.A. in Studio and Fine Art, with a focus on three dimensional design (specifically book binding and ceramics), and a minor in Psychology. Though she now works in PR and Retail Operations for independent shoemakers in Ponce City Market, she refuses to lose her practice. She believes making time and space to feel and grow are critical, both on and off the mat. Courtney received her 200 hour certification from Lift Yoga Studio.
Courtney encourages students to connect with themselves, acknowledge their limits, and invite new challenges.
She continuously strives towards coming to her mat to feel, not to accomplish; however, sometimes both happen, and that is very rewarding. Her classes allow students to try something new, experience a new perspective, and realize their full potential.
